Terms of Use
By using mens.agem you accept these terms. They are deliberately short.
1. Who we are
mens.agem is an editorial literary catalogue operated from Barcelos, Portugal, as a module of the agem system. The editor-in-charge is José Linhares (see About).
2. Permitted use
You may read, quote and share the editorial content of this site freely for personal, educational or journalistic purposes, provided you credit the source (mens.agem) and link the page you quote. For commercial use, please request permission at editorial@mens.agem.pt.
3. Copyright of literary excerpts
Excerpts from the listed works belong to their respective authors and publishers. Excerpts from public-domain works (12th century to early 20th century) are reproduced in full. Excerpts from works still under legal protection are kept to the minimum needed for criticism and commentary under Art. 75(2)(g) of the Portuguese Copyright Code (CDADC). For takedown requests, write to legal@mens.agem.pt.
4. Editorial content
Biographies, summaries and short essays published on mens.agem are original work by the editorial team and are released under Creative Commons Attribution – NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).
5. No warranty
The catalogue is provided as-is. Despite editorial care, factual errors may exist. See the Sources page for the bibliography we consulted and the Contact page to send corrections.
6. Commerce
The “Buy edition” function is currently disabled. mens.agem does not sell books directly — when active, sales are forwarded to each work's publisher.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law. The competent forum is the District Court of Braga, without prejudice to consumer-protection rights granted by law.
