Data controller

What we collect

• Server access logs: truncated IP, user agent, route and response code. Used solely to detect abuse and diagnose failures. Retained for 30 days.
• Local shelf: your saved books are stored in your browser's localStorage. They never leave your device. Clear them from your browser settings at any time.
• Direct messages: if you write to us, we keep the email and its contents to reply and for our records. Deleted after 24 months of inactivity.

What we do not collect

• No advertising trackers and no cross-site behavioural profiling.
• No advertising cookies. Beyond strictly technical cookies (language preference), analytics is used only if you accept it — see below.
• We do not sell, rent or share data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Analytics (with your consent)

We use Google Analytics, loaded through Google Tag Manager, only to understand aggregate browsing patterns and improve the catalogue. These cookies load only after you accept on the cookie banner — choose essentials only and nothing analytical is loaded. We do not match these signals with personal information or use them for advertising.

Legal basis

Access logs: legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) in service security and availability. Direct messages: performance of contact requested by the user (Art. 6(1)(b)). Analytics: consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you can withdraw at any time by clearing your browser cookies.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, port and object to the processing of your data. Send any such request to privacidade@mens.agem.pt. You may also lodge a complaint with the Portuguese data protection authority, CNPD.

External services

We load the Cormorant Garamond typeface from Google Fonts. Your browser issues a direct HTTP request to Google when loading the page; Google states it does not store those requests for advertising purposes (see Google Fonts privacy FAQ).

Changes

Any material change to this policy is dated at the bottom of the page and announced to anyone who has written to us in the last 24 months.
